Jim vs. Jet Lag Part 2

Checkin area at the Dan Hotel Tel Aviv.

Flying from Frankfurt to Tel Aviv was relatively uneventful. Lufthansa was dealing with a airline steward strike but it mostly affected their domestic flights. We were in our room by ~1 AM local time. I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep and I attribute that to a nap on the flight and maybe too much coffee. Also my wife was pretty amped up about being in Israel so she was quietly rustling about and reading while I was trying to sleep.

Amazing breakfast display.

Fortunately, I woke up at 7 AM feeling pretty rested. We had a great breakfast and then commenced walking around Tel Aviv for 12,000 steps (photos below). We had an early dinner (by local standards 6 PM is about the earliest you can eat). I fell into a deep sleep at 9 PM, woke up briefly at 2 AM and was up for my second Tel Aviv day at 6:30 AM feeling pretty fantastic.

Bar seating at George and John was completely full by the time we finished our dinner.

Jet lag appears to be defeated… mostly. I would not trust myself to operate heavy equipment after dinner here but I’m functioning pretty well.
