The Blue Lagoon

You can't be in the presence of a volcanically active area without seeing some hot springs and maybe even a geothermal power plant. This afternoon's excursion took us to both though the focus was on the (milky) Blue Lagoon. The Svartsengi Power Station uses extremely hot water to generate electricity, then it goes through heat exchanger for a local hot water supply and finally they dump their waste (which consists of hot water instead of extremely hot water) into the Blue Lagoon.
