Harpa

I can't say enough about this building. Julia and I went back this evening to see a play for the tourists called, How to Become Icelandic in 60 Minutes. It was a one man show by Bjarni Haukur Thorsson show that incorporated numerous stereotypes about Icelanders with some good shots taken at all of the audience members' countries as well. Not an easy feat. He had 15 key points, I slept through a few of the middle ones (just like at the UofA) but the best one came last.

Þetta Reddast! or it will save itself/fix itself, everything will work out or don't worry be happy.

After the play we checked out the fancy Kolabrautin restaurant that had great food and views of the city and harbour. Even though it cost €164 million that Iceland didn't have, one could argue that it makes for one of the few tangible legacies (apart from a few volumes of great banking sagas and higher taxes) of their reckless embrace of American-style leveraged to the gills capitalism.
