I am not an expert on Far Eastern philosophies but it in the English speaking world there are thousands of books incorporating "Tao" or "Zen" in their title. Subjects covered include motorcycle maintenance, addiction and recovery, gardening, sex, martial arts, and even trading. There is potential for distortion when mere humans start applying spiritual principles to everyday life (as in the Life of Brian's Judean People's Front vs. People's Front of Judea). The basic principles usually take up fewer pages and cost less money.
