More Manipulation

I like conspiracy theories so it is instructive to have a few examples where the theories proved correct.

Norske Skog Canada has initiated a class action lawsuit against 24 chemical companies who have allegedly conspired to artificially inflate the price of hydrogen peroxide. Charges have already been laid against 18 firms in Europe.

There is often more at work in the markets than pure supply and demand fundamentals. Producers of basic materials are not above sticking it to their customers if they thing they can make bigger bucks. A few examples of materials that have been artificially manipulated by suppliers include vitamins, electricity and lysine.
