Rockin' the Casbah

Matthew Simmons has been following the oil markets for 34 years.

Twilight in the Desert is a great summary of his research on Saudi Arabia's oil reserves.

His conclusions are not new. Jeremy Rifkin (in 2002) was alluding to the same issues in his book "The Hydrogen Economy".

Declining production from the Middle East at a time when the world expects the taps to be cranked open should not be news. However, the reality is that the "big picture" trend of peak oil doesn't matter until it MATTERS.
