The King is Gone but He's Not Forgotten

M. King Hubbert has been getting his name in the papers lately. Hubbert is famous for at least two reasons. Both of which are of importance to speculators.

1) The Hubbert Peak predicts that the global supply of any exhaustible resource such as coal or oil, or deposits of metallic ores will rise and fall on a bell curve distribution. His discussions of an ever expanding supply of money vs. a finite global resource endowment is extremely relevant.

2) Petroleum Hydrogeology is the study of groundwater flow's impact on hydrocarbon accumulations. J
