Silver and Gold
True story… I spent the better part of my Sunday night listening to a French-Canadian U2 tribute band from Montreal in an Irish pub in Calgary. They did a nice version of "Silver and Gold" which I thought was rather timely. Charts of the leaders, Newmont Mines and Pan American Silver, look prettier than a fiber optic Christmas tree.
In silver news, Silver Wheaton (SLW.TO) is raising $75 million which will likley be spent on acquisition(s). One of the most likely candidates to be taken over is Bear Creek Mining (BCM.V) as Silver Wheaton already owns 15% of it. Bear Creek Mining’s Corani project in Peru continues to grow as drill results come in.
